MCU Actor Ross Marquand and the second appearance of the Cosmic Cube

Context: I attended Days of the Dead Chicago this past weekend. Ross was in attendance because of his role as Aaron on the Walking Dead, but we all know him best for portraying Red Skull in Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame. The comic he is holding after signing is Tales of Suspense #80 (published in May 1966, cover art by Jack Kirby), the second appearance of the Cosmic Cube (the Tesseract in the movies).

Meeting him was a unique and fun experience. He was jolly and pleasant to chat with and just about had a happy attack when I showed him the comic in question. He said it was the oldest piece of Marvel memorabilia he’s been asked to sign. And I could tell from the way he carefully held the comic before and after signing it, that this guy is as much a True Believer as any of us. Excelsior!
