why the One More Day hate?

Not saying the dislike for it is unjustified, I’m just genuinely curious because i enjoyed it just fine.

The one main reason i found from research is the MJ and Spidey breakup.

I wanna explain my reading history of Marvel so far because it somewhat effects my perspective of One More Day. I’ve never read any Spidey comics pre 2006 Civil War, and still haven’t to this day. The Civil War Tie-In collection was my first Spidey comic i ever owned, it being amongst a few other Marvel events my dad bought me randomly one day when i was like 10 or 11. I never read anything besides those for a couple years, and now at 24 i decided to get Marvel Unlimited to read more comics (that’s the short version).

These past 4 or 5 months I’ve read from Avengers Disassembled to Secret Wars, then went back and started reading Spidey comics from the Civil War run, because that was basically my starting point for Spidey as far as reading.

Now I’ve seen all the movies (Raimi, Amazing & MCU), I’ve played a bunch of games and seen almost all the shows. So i had a grasp before reading of how important MJ is to the Spidey canon.

But the story of One More Day was fine to me because it was just interesting. The story was decent to me, the art was good, and it was cool seeing Peter see “what could’ve been” essentially. I didn’t mind the MJ breakup, because i personally like status quo changes and plus she was still around a lot afterwards anyway. But i might also be fine with it cuz like i said, i never read anything before that point, so it’s possible i just wasn’t as invested in the MJ-Spidey ship like everyone else.

But what are your guys’ thoughts on One More Day? Why did you dislike it? I’m curious
