“Being Captain America has been my American Dream”

Growing up, Captain America never really appealed to me because from face value he just seemed like an overly patriotic Superman type, who was completely law-abiding and infallible. The MCU along with actually reading some of the old comics, I could not be more wrong.
One thing that honestly caught my attention was this scene where Steve Roger’s declares that he can no longer be Captain America if the current political climate interferes with his morals. He will not compromise what he believes is right, but he will also not become an enemy of his own nation if he can help it.
He’s not right or left, blue or red. He’s red, white and blue. A symbol of unity and leadership. A common man rising to the occasion. The American Dream.
